Ever heard the story of the Chinese Bamboo tree?

Ever heard the story of the Chinese Bamboo tree? In short, Bamboo seeds must be planted in the right soil conditions, given enough water and exposed to the proper amount of sunlight for growth. ⠀

The most interesting thing about the tree is that you don’t observe growth above the soil in the first year. As a matter of fact, you won’t even see growth in years 2,3 or 4!! Finally, in the fifth year of nurturing, protecting and feeding the plant something amazing happens. The plant grows approximately 90 feet tall in a matter of six weeks! ⠀

After hearing the story for the first time, I asked myself this question:

Did it really grow that fast in six weeks?

Because I’m a bit of a nerd, I know a couple of things about earth science.

1.  A seed must be covered in dirt to sprout new life.

2.  A seed cannot sustain itself without the proper nourishment of food and water.

3.  A seed develops in a hidden place prior to ever being made visible.

4.  To steady itself for growth, the seed must produce a foundation worthy of its potential.

The life cycle of a new project, new focus, new business venture is no different. The truth of the matter is that all the challenges you encounter are growing you where no eyes can see. You’re developing tenacity, strength, endurance, and unshakable confidence that it really can work.

Give it time. Continue to nourish and protect it.  Believe it even when your eyes can’t see it happening.  Allow it to produce a foundation worth of the end result.  Hold on.  Watch God.  It’s coming.
